ad hoc Ballet offers a wide range of workshops for adults and children at all levels of ability.

MASTER CLASS (Deborah Lohse)
Lohse teaches a contemporary ballet class rooted in the classical form. Moments allow for experimentation while slowly drawing the student's focus from technique to performance. Lohse challenges students to break bad habits and discover new approaches to performance that enhance the dancing experience.

REPERTORY CLASS (Company)
An opportunity for students to learn selections from the company's repertory.

BALLET (Company)
An open level ballet class with an emphasis on performance.

MODERN DANCE (Deborah Lohse)
An open level modern class with a solid warm-up based in the eclectic range of techniques and styles found in the current New York City downtown modern dance scene.

COMPOSITION WORKSHOP (Deborah Lohse)
In this workshop, Lohse draws the student's attention to making bold artistic decisions and developing personal nuances through articulation, subtext and sincerity.

THEATER CONCEPTS FOR DANCE (Deborah Lohse)
Lohse incorporates theater techniques to uncover the student's individualistic performance instincts that add dimension to the experience of the performer and of the audience in performance.

COSTUME DESIGN FOR DANCE (Candice Thompson)
Students learn the basics of costume design for dance, which includes the business side of design as well and the creative aspect.

MOVING TO NYC WORKSHOP (Company)
A practical no-nonsense workshop that focuses on the key elements to a successful transition into the New York City dance world. Tailored to the needs of the participants, which can include how to work as a freelance dancer, show your choreography, where to take class, see performances and meet other artists.

SPECIAL POPULATIONS (Deborah Lohse)
Working with special needs populations such as the developmentally disabled, mentally ill and autistic, Lohse creates a space for creative exploration and a basic introduction to the world of dance.
